Job summary

Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater West, the largest potable water testing laboratory in the US, is seeking a Scientist I in the GCMS department to join our Pomona, CA team. This full-time role (40 hrs/week) involves routine sample prep and GCMS analyses of water samples.

You will perform data processing, documentation and instrument maintenance, and prepare reagents. Some late shifts and weekends are required; compensation ranges $22.20-$27.00/hr DOE, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS degree in chemistry or related science required.
• 1–2 years of laboratory experience.
• 1–2 years GC or GCMS ChemStation experience preferred.
• Overtime including weekends required.
• Excellent math and computer skills.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to details and good organization skills.
• Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English (reading/writing/speaking).

Responsibilities

• Routine sample preparation and analysis of water samples by EPA and Standard Methods procedures.
• Performing data processing, data entry and written documentation.
• Performing routine instrument maintenance.
• Preparation of reagents and standards.
• Other general laboratory related duties as assigned.
• Will include regular late shift and/or weekend duties.
