Job summary

SPL is seeking a Lab Analyst II for its Reading, PA environmental testing lab. The role centers on metals analysis with hands-on experience in sample prep, extraction, and Instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on analytical lab experience operating instrumentation such as ICP, ICP-MS, or ICP-OES, and performing turbidity, hardness, or mercury testing.
• Strong understanding of analytical methods, instrument calibration, troubleshooting, and lab quality control procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental samples for metals analysis using digestion and other laboratory preparation techniques.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot ICP-OES and ICP-MS instrumentation.
• Perform metals analysis, mercury, turbidity, and hardness testing following approved methods and QA/QC requirements.
• Document sample preparation, instrument performance, and results in LIMS with accuracy.
• Collaborate with team to meet turnaround times and support cross-training.
