Job summary

SPL in Reading, PA is seeking a Laboratory Technician II to join our environmental laboratory team. You will perform inorganic sample preparation and analysis, review data, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires a bachelor's in Chemistry or Environmental Science and 2+ years of lab experience, plus proficiency with LIMS and Microsoft Office. Schedule is Mon-Fri 6:00–2:30 with occasional weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related scientific discipline.
• 2+ years of professional hands-on analytical laboratory experience, preferably environmental testing.
• Experience with BOD/CBOD, IC, FIA, spectrophotometry, wet chemistry, SFA, titrations, or reagent preparation; proficiency in at least two areas.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform inorganic sample preparation, analytical testing, and quality control activities per methods and SOPs.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments, including preventive maintenance.
• Review and interpret analytical data, perform calculations, and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records, enter results in LIMS, and prepare reports.
• Collaborate to prioritize workloads, meet turnaround times, and support cross-training.
• Contribute to audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized laboratory with proper inventory and equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
