Acuren is seeking a Metallurgical Technician to support failure analysis laboratory processes in West Boylston, MA. The role includes metallographic preparation, hardness testing, documentation, and data recording to evaluate mechanical and materials components.

Qualifications

• Post high school education with courses relating to failure analysis, metallography, mechanical testing and analysis procedures and equipment.
• Familiarity with metallographic laboratory equipment.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Document samples submitted to the laboratory and during testing (photography, hand sketches, data tables).
• Prepare laboratory processes for failure analysis of mechanical or materials samples (metallography, testing such as hardness/microhardness, optical emissions, electrical testing, pressure testing).
• Maintain operations and maintenance of cutting/sectioning saws, grit blasting, and hand/power tools.
• Perform other related duties as required.
