Job summary

Structural Integrity Associates, Inc. in Austin, Texas seeks a Metallurgical Technician for our state-of-the-art testing laboratory to support metallurgical failure analysis across industries.

You will prepare samples for metallographic examination, document findings with metallurgical and digital microscopes, and perform laser scans of components. The role includes field work supporting outage projects, with travel of about 2–3 months yearly.

Responsibilities

• Document as-received samples in the lab.
• Prepare samples for metallographic examination (cutting, mounting, polishing, etching).
• Document prepared samples with metallurgical and digital microscopes.
• Perform laser scans to record component geometry.
• Maintain laboratory systems and equipment.
• Support field condition assessment projects and travel to client sites.
• Assist NDE personnel with various assessment methods.
