Job summary

Acuren is seeking a Metallographer II to support our New Castle, DE operations in a high-volume lab setting. The role involves metallographic examinations, advanced specimen preparation, microstructure analysis, and documentation of results.

The position requires an associates degree or equivalent, 3+ years in a materials lab, reading technical drawings, and strong English communication. Mentoring of staff and process improvements are also part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or two years of post-high school studies in relevant technical field.
• Minimum 3 years in materials laboratory setting or materials-related field; aerospace experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specifications and drawings.
• Excellent organizational and English communication skills; grammar, spelling, punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Performs metallographic examinations and advanced specimen preparation.
• Analyzes microstructure via optical and digital microscopy; documents results.
• Interprets findings, formats reports, and may assist in failure analysis and material verification.
• Supports equipment calibration, process improvement, and mentoring of entry-level staff.
