Job summary

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging, seeks an Metallizer Operator at the Villa Rica, Georgia facility. The role supports production on the metallizing line, requires night shift work, and emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, experience with metallizing or similar processes, and the ability to operate heavy equipment and perform data entry. Associated benefits and a 3/2 schedule are offered.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of metallizing or related process.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to judge distances while operating heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Metallizer to meet goals for waste, safety, quality, and production.
• Perform quality checks during the shift to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Understand the Vacuum System on the metallizer.
• Communicate with associates about waste, quality, safety, and production issues.
• Manage operator assistance during the shift to meet department goals.
• Follow all work instructions pertaining to Metallizer Operator.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area meeting AIB requirements.
• Enter production data into PIMS and OPUS.

Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking qualified candidates to fill one (1) Operator opening at their Metallizing facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia. This person will work in a team environment, cross-train, and assist on the production floor as needed.

Shift: 3/2 Schedule 7:00 pm - 7:00 am Pay Range: $24.41 - $36.61 (+ $2.50/hour night shift premium)

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Working knowledge of metallizing or related process
• Forklift certification preferred
• Ability to judge distances while operating heavy equipment
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to perform data entry
• Ability to be self-directed and to multitask
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to lift objects weighing 60 pounds
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check

Internal Candidates

• Last performance review was rated “Performer” or higher
• No disciplinary actions beyond a Verbal warning within the past 120 days
• Must be in current role a minimum of 120 days
• May not be on probation or Performance Improvement Plan

Key Responsibilities

• Effectively operate the Metallizer to meet the department goals for waste, safety, quality, and production
• Perform quality checks during the shift to ensure the customer specifications are being met
• Understand the Vacuum System on the metallizer
• Effectively communicate to all associates during the shift on waste, quality, safety, and production related issues
• Manage the operator assistance during the shift to meet the department goals
• Follow all relevant work instruction that pertain to the Metallizer Operator position
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area that meets AIB requirements at all times during the shift
• Entering data into PIMS and OPUS to record production data
• Operating overhead crane in automatic mode and performing roll change in a safe, productive manner
• Operating a forklift
• Participating as a team member on the plant process teams
• Being a team player by assisting on other equipment
• Completing duty checklists
• Tracking waste on each roll produced
• Reviewing job jacket information at the beginning of each job and ensuring that the correct material is run for the customer
• Performing vacuum maintenance on the schedule days
• Cutting samples for lab testing
• Using Beloit Meter to check quality of raw material and WIP
