Job summary

Fortune Brands Outdoors & Security in Brookings, SD is seeking an Assembler to join the Production team. You will assemble metal products, cut and punch materials, and operate drilling and laminating equipment on the shop floor.

You will read production instructions, perform quality checks, and help train others as needed. This full-time role requires basic math, tape-measure skills, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Reading and writing skills are essential.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence, read numbers and letters facilitating order requirements.
• Ability to process specified instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract in all units of measure, using whole numbers.
• Ability to measure, read, and understand a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Positions and assembles parts according to knowledge of product or established processes.
• Fastens parts with clinching presses, screws, rivets, or other fasteners; glues laminates.
• Operates drill presses, sawing, punching, laminating, riveting equipment.
• Performs quality checks on products and may inspect others' work.
• Uses PPE and follows safety guidelines; reports any nonconformance.
• Trains other workers in job skills and maintains attendance.
• May rotate assignments and move to other work groups as needed.
• Reads and follows production standards and writes simple instructions when needed.
• Maintains good relations with supervisors and co-workers.
