Job summary

Fortune Brands Outdoors & Security is seeking an assembler for an evening shift (3:30pm - 8:30pm+), Monday through Thursday, to assemble metal products such as doors and windows on the shop floor. You will use drills, saws, punches, laminating and riveting equipment to build parts, perform quality checks, and follow safety guidelines while adapting to different work groups.

The role requires reading and writing, basic math, and tape measure proficiency.

Qualifications

• Reading and writing skills are essential. Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence, read numbers and letters facilitating order requirements.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic measurement tasks.
• Ability to add, subtract in all units of measure using whole numbers.
• Must be courteous and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts according to product knowledge or established processes.
• Fasten parts with clinching presses, screws, rivets, or other fasteners; laminate wood with other materials.
• Operate drill presses, sawing equipment, punch presses, laminating, riveting machines and related equipment.
• Perform quality checks on products and occasionally review coworkers' work.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and use PPE as required.
• Train other workers in job tasks and maintain attendance per company policies.
• Move between work groups and shifts to meet staffing needs and customer demands.
