Job summary

Fortune Brands Outdoors & Security is seeking an Assembler to join the Production team in Brookings, SD. You will assemble metal products, cut and prepare materials, and work on the shop floor to support manufacturing processes.

The role involves operating various presses and equipment, performing quality checks, and following safety guidelines. The position includes rotation across groups and shift flexibility as needed to meet customer demands.

Qualifications

Reading and writing skills are essential. Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence, read numbers and letters facilitating order requirements.
Must be able to measure, read a tape measure, and perform basic arithmetic.
Ability to follow instructions and work with various assembly processes.
Rotation between work groups and hours to meet staffing requirements.

Responsibilities

Positions and assembles parts according to product knowledge and procedures.
Fastens parts with presses, screws, rivets, or fasteners; laminates wood with materials.
Operates drill presses, sawing equipment, punching, laminating, riveting machines.
Performs quality checks on products and may inspect others.
Adheres to PPE and safety guidelines; reports nonconformance.
Trains other workers in skills and maintains good attendance.
Reads production standards and writes simple correspondence.
