Industrial Management Group LLC is seeking a disciplined Slitter Operator/Machine Tech A in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on setting up, operating, and monitoring precision metal slitting equipment to convert large coils into narrower strips per customer specs.

Responsibilities include machine setups, inspection, material handling, and adherence to safety procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience in slitting, metal processing, or related production environment.
• Experience setting up and operating precision slitting equipment or similar machinery.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, setup sheets, and production specifications.
• Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).
• Basic math skills for measurements, tolerances, and material quantities.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and metal processing operations.
• Forklift experience and safe material handling in manufacturing.
• Works well independently and in a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate precision metal slitting equipment to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Perform complete machine setups, including knives, spacers, shims, tooling, and clearance settings.
• Operate and monitor associated machinery (Traverse Winders, Loop Systems, Edgers, Rewinders, Cut-to-Length).
• Process diverse materials including copper, brass, aluminum, tin-plated, and nickel-plated metals.
• Read and interpret production work orders, setup sheets, specs, and drawings; use setup sheets and shimless tooling.
