Job summary

Rivian in Normal, IL is seeking a Manufacturing IT/MES Technical Support Engineer to solve application issues, deploy MES changes, and support line deployments. This role reports to the MFG Systems Support Manager and requires collaboration with Product and Process teams.

You will identify process pain points, analyze data, and implement improvements, while contributing to automation and supporting weekend/on-call objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in IT/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering/CS.
• 1+ years experience with Manufacturing IT Systems.
• Familiar with MES applications like FTPC, Kepware, Ignition.
• Knowledge of MFG systems and processes including MES & Quality Systems.
• Basic system troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with root cause analysis to resolve issues.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Act as an escalation point for MES incidents to minimize downtime on Factory Operations.
• Perform system configuration changes including rebalancing and line changes for efficiency.
• Collaborate with plant commissioning teams to launch manufacturing systems.
• Update documentation reflecting system changes and processes.
• Work with Product teams and Process Engineers to define line/station processes and configurations.
• Pursue automation to remove repetitive work in line with SRE principles.
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement fixes.
• Be available for weekends, holidays and on-call to meet operations goals.
• Liaise with security, controls, networking, tooling to restore service or deploy changes.
• Train Operations Analysts and develop user manuals and specs.
