Job summary

Gotion Illinois seeks a hands-on MES Engineer to deploy and integrate MES across lithium-ion battery cell, module, and pack production lines. The role connects shop-floor equipment, SCADA/HMI, and enterprise systems to enable reliable data exchange and end-to-end traceability.

The successful candidate will work with manufacturing, process engineering, controls, quality, IT, and MES development teams to support production readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 3+ years in MES implementation or shop-floor software commissioning.
• Hands-on MES integration with equipment apps, SCADA/HMI, or PLCs.
• Proficiency with C#/.NET or similar platforms (or equivalent).
• Experience with OPC UA/DA, REST APIs, and database interfaces.
• Familiarity with Modbus TCP, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP.
• Experience with SQL Server/Oracle/MySQL and writing queries.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment and support commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and commission MES interfaces and shop-floor applications.
• Integrate MES with equipment apps, PLCs, and enterprise systems.
• Ensure data reliability, traceability, and timely data availability.
• Provide on-site troubleshooting during startup, ramp-up, and operations.
• Translate manufacturing needs into system improvements and process controls.
• Participate in testing, validation, and change management activities.
• Create documentation and train production/maintenance staff.
