Job summary

Gotion Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer (MES & Data) to join its Digitalization Team in Manteno, IL.

The role focuses on implementing, deploying, and supporting MES and data platforms across battery manufacturing operations, collaborating with software, controls, and production teams to drive smart manufacturing on the factory floor. The ideal candidate has MES experience in production, PLC integration skills, and a passion for data-driven optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• 2+ years experience with manufacturing systems (MES) and automation.
• Experience with MES in a production environment.
• Experience with PLC systems (Siemens/Beckhoff/Mitsubishi).
• Experience with manufacturing data and production reporting.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of OPC-UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP or MQTT.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and support MES systems and digital platforms in production environments.
• Collaborate with software teams to implement and validate manufacturing solutions.
• Support integration between production equipment, PLCs, MES, databases and enterprise apps.
• Configure and troubleshoot manufacturing data collection systems.
• Develop and maintain operational dashboards, reports, and KPIs.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify process improvements.
• Support testing, UAT, and production rollout.
• Train end users and provide ongoing system support.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, maintenance and engineering to improve efficiency.
