Brunswick is seeking a Mechatronics Intern to help develop actuator solutions for marine drive applications. You will work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment bridging Electrical and Mechanical engineering.

Job description

Position Overview

As a Mechatronics Intern, you will help develop actuator solutions for marine drive applications ranging from basic hydraulic to full electromechanical components. Participate in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary design and lab environment and bridge the gap between Electrical and Mechanical core competencies.

Essential Functions
  • Process data with Matlab or Python
  • Work with Engineers and Technicians to develop creative actuator solutions
  • Become a resource for mechanical and electrical troubleshooting with existing and new actuator products
  • Utilize and contribute to the data-based engineering community at Brunswick
  • Participate in DFMEA activities for existing product improvement opportunities or new actuator products

Required Qualifications
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, robotics engineering or closely related field
  • Strong working knowledge of control systems, sensors, power electronics, brushed and brushless motors
  • Data Acquisition and test design
  • Strong technical background and great communication skills
  • Experience participating in DFMEA based design methods
  • Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
  • Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) during the months May through August of 2027
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to electrohydraulic actuators or electromechanical actuators

Hours: Co‑ops and interns are expected to work a full 40‑hour work week.

Feedback and Performance Reviews: As a co‑op or intern, you will receive feedback and performance reviews throughout your assignment. We value the importance for interns to understand their progress and areas for improvement.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $18.00 - $27.50 per hour. The actual hourly rate offered will vary depending on multiple factors including year in school/credits earned, degree, job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
