Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. in Little Elm, Texas seeks a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join our store leadership team, focusing on merchandising and freight processing, working alongside the Store Manager to mentor associates and create positive experiences for our customers.

You will handle opening/closing procedures, stockroom upkeep, and compliance with policies while ensuring safe, friendly interactions and meeting productivity standards.

Qualifications

• Retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Able to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards (stockroom and sales floor).
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock as required (bathrooms, floors, trash).
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Process receipt and returns of merchandise, manage freight flow.
• Order and stock merchandise including frozen & refrigerated per standards.
• Ensure sales floor remains sales-effective and merchandised with clips/panels.
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners.
