Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities we serve. You’ll focus on merchandising and processing freight, assist with store functions, and perform opening/closing procedures while protecting assets and maintaining safety standards.

You will support the Store Manager with duties such as processing receipt/return of DSD merchandise, managing freight flow, stocking

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines
• Maintain stockroom and sales floor to company standards
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise
• Manage freight flow and stock merchandise including frozen & refrigerated items
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective
• Plan merchandise and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners
