As a Merchandising Service Associate – Plant Service Lead, this means focusing on Live Plants while: (1) Being friendly and professional while engaging vendors and associates to meet store needs, (2) Ensuring signage, pricing information, and displays are accurate so that merchandise is easy to locate, and (3) Creating visually appealing product selections that are safe, clean, and easy for customers to access. The Merchandising Service Associate – Plant Service Lead is primarily responsible for overseeing execution of all assigned Live Nursery merchandising resets, service responsibilities, and maintenance activities. This involves working outside in the garden center, ensuring merchandise is stocked, fronted, and priced according to planograms and store-specific merchandising standards (e.g., stock, displays, promotion space). The Merchandising Service Associate – Plant Service Lead works closely with the Merchandising Service Manager, MSA - Plant Service associates, and store leaders to set and lead priorities for the MST Live Nursery team and identify store nursery service needs (e.g., materials, supplies, time) while also providing ongoing plant service updates and feedback. The MSA – Plant Service Lead is required to maintain a safe and secure work environment by conducting daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping store areas clean and organized while monitoring for potential theft or security risks. Travel requirements: This role does not require regular travel; however, this role may need to travel on occasion to meetings, trainings, or to support neighboring stores.

What you will do

• Always provide SMART customer service through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
• Build relationships with vendors by providing direction and checking to ensure merchandise resets are completed according to Lowe’s specifications.
• Collaborate with the Merchandising Service team and Manager by communicating project priorities, schedule, and project needs (e.g., materials, supplies, time).
• Engage with customers when opportunities arise by understanding their needs and assisting in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise.
• Listen to and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer questions, taking them to areas of the store when necessary.
• Demonstrate sincere appreciation to customers.
• Communicate information regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information related to Lowe’s programs.
• Empty plant racks onto plant tables merchandising by planogram, price, and color block as they arrive.
• Identify damaged or missing signage, displays, collateral, and orders replacements in accordance with merchandising standards and planogram details.
• Update and validate wayfinding and product location signage, and maintain digital information throughout the store.
• Ensure cross-merchandising, side stack products, j-hooks, and gravity feed bins are appropriately placed to drive add-on sales.
• Assist with culling and pricing dead and distressed plants.
• Maintain high communication and partnership with MSM and red vest associates.
• Identify and communicate issues with quality, quantity, and additional needs to Outside Garden Supervisor and MSM.
• Adjust fixtures, rotate stock, and support product displays using power equipment (e.g., lifts, order pickers) per service expectations.
• Complete and document all service and maintenance tasks, including taking photographs for confirmation.
• Ensure all displays are safe, functional, and repaired or replaced as needed.
• Seal damaged packaging and boxes, and remove trash and debris.
• Replace light bulbs and report maintenance issues.
• Detect and communicate security risks such as shoplifting or theft.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of outside garden and work areas.
• Conduct safety reviews, note hazards, and keep work areas secure.
• Operate store equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Less than 1 year 6 months of live nursery or general merchandising experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Less than 1 year 6 months of Lowe’s sales floor experience.
• 6 months experience in product merchandising, including reading planograms and setting up displays.
• Less than 1 year 3 months experience operating power equipment such as lifts and order pickers.
