Job summary

The Michaels Companies, Inc. in DeKalb, IL seeks a Merchandise Manager to drive merchandising and operational execution, including truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets, and visual standards.

This role ensures accurate pricing, timely promotional execution, and a customer-ready store environment through strong workload planning and inventory management. 3+ years of retail leadership experience is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods, move throughout the store, and lift 25–50 pounds with/without accommodation.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and early mornings.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to SOPs and Company programs.
• Ensure execution of Company policies and standards and hold team accountable.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage and maintain floor leadership, service standards, and operational continuity.
• Lead truck execution processes and ensure timely unloading and merchandise flow to the sales floor.
• Own workload planning and daily task prioritization with store leadership.
• Execute and maintain SISO routines to drive in-stock levels and replenishment accuracy.
• Oversee Planogram execution and establishment of visual merchandising standards.
• Support a clean, organized, customer-ready store environment including backroom and sales floor recovery.
• Manage inventory control, pricing changes, and ad sets for promotions.
• Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment and RTV/ASN processes, ensuring accuracy.
• Manage store damages procedures and shrink reduction.
