Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading a team and delivering a positive customer experience. You will focus on merchandising, processing freight, and ensuring daily store operations run smoothly.

You will assist with freight flow, stock needs, and maintaining sales-floor effectiveness, while upholding company policies and safety guidelines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift 30 to 50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing and pulling.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain store cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Assist Store Manager with duties such as processing receipts/returns of merchandise.
• Manage freight flow and stock needs to productivity standards.
• Ensure sales-floor readiness and merchandise planning including clips, panels, and monthly planners.
