Job summary

Burlington Stores invites you to join a 10-week Buying Intern program that mirrors day-to-day work of a full-time associate. You’ll shadow an Assistant Buyer, participate in market visits, and support merchandising decisions in a hybrid setting with 2–3 days in-office.

You will learn retail math, plan assortments, and assist in negotiations while building a foundation for a future career in Buying within a leading off-price retailer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, Retail Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, Economics, or related fields.
• Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
• Affinity for retail math, product/merchandising, and building a career in Buying.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the buying team in merchandise selection, negotiation, and pricing.
• Assist in planning/coordination of product availability for advertising and promotion.
• Assist in assortment and category planning that meets customer demand.
• Prepare trend boards by researching trends for seasonal buys.
• Update and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
• Travel to market visits 1–2 days per week to visit vendors and assist in selecting and negotiating products.
• Participate in competitive shopping to identify opportunities, labels, and trends.
• Collaborate across departments to input ideas and execute assignments.
