Job summary

Burlington Stores in the United States is seeking an Assistant Buyer to start a career in Buying, analyze a business area, and build vendor relationships to curate compelling assortments for customers.

The program offers hands-on onboarding, mentorship, market and office shadowing, a hybrid schedule, and relocation benefits for eligible candidates. You will learn to select merchandise, analyze category performance, negotiate pricing, and manage purchase orders across a region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in merchandising, business, marketing, retail management, supply chain, economics, or related fields.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Fundamental understanding of retail math.
• Data-driven problem-solver who can build and maintain productive partnerships.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and quantify market trends.
• Strong communication and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Select and procure merchandise in conjunction with Buyers to ensure a customer-oriented product mix.
• Provide operational support by analyzing category performance and delivering insights.
• Participate in market visits and vendor negotiations to select assortments and pricing.
• Contribute to business growth through competitive shopping and market evaluation.
• Build win/win relationships with vendors and manage vendor communication.
• Manage purchase orders, routing guides, and delivery schedules to ensure timely receipts.
