Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Macon, GA to join the Store Manager in leading a team of associates and delivering engaging customer experiences. You will focus on merchandising and freight processing while supporting day-to-day store operations.

The role requires prior retail and management experience, strong communication, and the ability to lift 30–50 lbs. You will help maintain store standards, safety, and a positive work environment for staff and customers.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain areas of the store to company standards
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and areas
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Other duties as assigned
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective
• Plan and maintain Clip Strips and Power Panels with sales items
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners
