Job summary

Dollar Tree, Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Arcata, CA to support the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team and driving merchandising and freight processing. This role emphasizes strong customer interactions, adherence to safety guidelines, and maintaining store standards.

You will assist with daily store activities, freight flow, stock planning, and monthly sales support, while upholding company policies and delivering a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and restocking of bathrooms, floors, and other areas.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Support Store Manager with additional duties including freight flow and merchandise planning.
