Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking a Merchandise Assistant Manager in Newark, CA to join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates. You will focus on merchandising and processing freight, while assisting with store operations and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, asset protection, stockroom maintenance, and executing corporate directives. You will support freight flow, stock needs, and monthly planning to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience is preferred.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines
• Maintain areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain store cleanliness and restock as needed
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Other duties as assigned
• Process receipt and return of DSD merchandise
• Manage freight flow in accordance with productivity standards
• Order and stock merchandise including frozen & refrigerated items
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective
• Plan and maintain clips strips and power panels with merchandise
• Plan and implement monthly Sales Planners
