Job summary

O’Reilly Auto Parts in Springfield, IL is seeking a Merchandiser to greet customers on the sales floor, check out customers, stock and price merchandise, and complete sales preparation as needed. You will maintain displays per planograms, manage price changes, assist with stock adjustments and cycle counts, and help the manager with daily tasks and security.

Merchandiser

Compensation Pay Range

$15.00 - $20.00

The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual, quarterly performance, or premiums that may be paid in amounts ranging per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Essential Job Functions

• Greet customers on the sales floor, direct them to product or to parts specialist if needed.
• Check out customers and deter shoplifters.
• Keep the front area stocked and fronted, stocking merchandise according to planograms or displays, and complete sales preparation.
• Check in, price, and put up stock.
• Keep merchandise on display floor fronted, full, and clean on a daily basis.
• Make display changes according to company guidelines, planograms, etc., and ensure all price changes are made.
• Make sure all “sale” signs are in place, the sales flyer rack is stocked, and sufficient quantities of sale merchandise are on display.
• Remove all sale material when the sale ends and restore original pricing.
• Assist with stock adjustments, cycle counts, and overstock returns.
• Work with manager to complete store To Do List and Team Weekly tasks.
• Act as main shoplifting deterrent and front floor security.
• Assist with O’Reilly Image Maker responsibilities.
• Clock in/out according to company policy.
• Handle merchandise returns from customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Assist customers in the express lane or counter area by finishing tickets, taking money, checks, and credit cards when the counter is busy.

• Previous cashier and/or stocking experience.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
