Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking a Merchandise Manager in Phillipsburg, NJ to drive merchandising execution and inventory routines. You will manage truck processing, planogram sets, and visual standards to ensure pricing accuracy and a customer-ready store environment.

You will lead workload planning, SOP compliance, and in-stock optimization while training and developing store staff for strong operational results.

Qualifications

• Retail leadership experience (3+ years) is required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
• Ensure execution of policies and hold staff accountable for store conditions and results.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership and service standards.
• Lead truck execution: unloading, sorting, and flow of merchandise to the sales floor.
• Plan workload and daily task prioritization with store leadership.
• Execute Store-In-Stock Optimization routines to maintain in-stock levels and replenishment accuracy.
• Oversee Planogram execution and visual merchandising standards as per company expectations.
• Maintain a clean, organized store and backroom with strong merchandising presentation.
• Manage inventory accuracy, integrity, and stock movement.
• Execute ad sets with compliant signage and product placement focused on customers.
• Process RTVs and ASN receiving; ensure documentation accuracy and inventory adjustments.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skill-building.
• Support Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
