Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington is seeking an Inventory Processing Associate in Herndon, VA to support donation intake and prepare merchandise for display. You will transfer items, sort apparel, and ensure efficient, organized placement on the sales floor.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate logs, meeting productivity quotas, and upholding safety standards while delivering excellent donor and customer service. Prior retail or warehouse experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instruction.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally with associates and customers.
• Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Transfers merchandise from containers to determine appropriateness for the sales floor.
• Stays abreast of brand name, designer labels, current and vintage styles.
• Prepare items for the sales floor; evaluate items for quality, pricing, salability.
• Counts items processed and records on official log.
• Sorts apparel into boutique, salable, and salvage categories according to quota.
• Places items on hangers and transports to the sales floor keeping items grouped.
• Counts pieces of clothing and records on Daily Hanger Report.
• Follows safety and security practices including reporting hazards.
• Maintains a pace to meet productivity quotas and keeps a neat uniform.
• Assists in collection and stocking of donated merchandise.
• Provides excellent service to donors and retail customers.
