Job summary

Burlington Stores offers a 10-week Merchandise Planning Analyst Internship designed to mirror a day in the life of a full-time associate. You will gain hands-on exposure to planning, analytics, forecasting, and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑paced retail environment.

The program is hybrid—2–3 days in the office and 2–3 days remote—with leadership seminars, Excel training, store and distribution center tours, and opportunities to network with leaders and peers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with anticipated graduation December 2027–August 2028.
• Interest in retail planning, analytics, merchandising, finance or related business functions.
• Ability to analyze, interpret and apply data to support business recommendations.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze location-level sales performance, trends, and key business metrics to identify opportunities and risks.
• Develop reports, dashboards, and business analyses that help inform planning decisions.
• Assist with forecasting activities and business performance reviews.
• Partner with Planning, Merchandising, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to support strategic business initiatives.
• Utilize data and analytics to make recommendations that support location-specific sales and inventory strategies.
• Participate in scenario planning and business modeling to evaluate potential opportunities and business impacts.
• Assist in identifying trends and insights that support sales growth and overall business performance.
• Collaborate with partners across multiple functions to execute projects and achieve shared goals.
