Job summary

American Girl, a premium brand and a Mattel subsidiary, is seeking a Merchandise Handler Lead at the NYC Retail Flagship. You will oversee back-of-house operations, supervise merchandise placement, and lead the department in the absence of the Operations Manager.

The role requires coordinating with team members, ensuring safety and efficiency, and supporting store operations with IT and POS tasks.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 2 years of merchandise handling, inventory, and maintenance experience.
• Experience maintaining/troubleshooting IT and POS equipment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must be available to work open and close shifts, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise merchandise placement on selling floor and in stockroom per standards.
• Supervise and verify incoming and outgoing trailers and manifests.
• Lead in the absence of the Operations Manager and troubleshoot as needed.
• Promote teamwork; coach and motivate department members; give feedback.
• Communicate concerns and information to managers and associates.
• Troubleshoot and maintain store PCs and registers as needed.
• Assist with ordering store supplies and staff scheduling.
