Job summary

American Girl NYC is seeking a Merchandise Handler Lead (seasonal/late night) at our New York flagship. You will help manage back-of-house operations and lead the department team under the Operations Manager.

The role requires 6 months to 2 years in merchandise handling and IT/POS familiarity, lifting up to 30 lbs, and availability for open/close shifts, weekends, and holidays. Pay ranges from $20 to $22 per hour.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 2 years of experience with merchandise handling, inventory, and maintenance issues.
• Experience in maintaining/troubleshooting IT and POS equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must be available to work open and close shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise placement of merchandise on the selling floor and in the stockroom per visual, safety, and efficiency standards.
• Supervise and verify incoming and outgoing trailers and manifests.
• Assume leadership role in absence of Assistant Operations Manager; troubleshoot when needed.
• Promote team environment; coach and develop staff; provide regular feedback.
• Communicate internal and external concerns to manager; communicate company, store, and department information to associates.
• Assist in troubleshooting and maintenance of store PCs and registers.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned such as ordering store supplies and staff scheduling.
