Job summary

Forman Mills Inc. is seeking a Merchandise Manager in Buffalo to oversee merchandising operations across departments, ensuring layouts, signage, and feature sets align with company standards.

You will drive sales, manage markdowns, freight flow, and loss prevention while acting as the manager on duty in the Store Manager's absence. You will lead department leads, coordinate staffing, train staff, and ensure a high level of customer service, policy adherence, and store presentation.

Qualifications

• Must have 3–5 years of management, operations and merchandising experience in a big-box setting.
• Demonstrates high energy, hands-on leadership and the ability to motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent people skills and effective communication with staff and customers.
• Proficient computer skills including POS systems, timekeeping, and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed budgeted sales and KPIs daily.
• Direct daily activities of assigned departments and manage merchandise flow from stockroom to floor.
• Train and develop department leads and staff; oversee staffing and performance counseling.
• Open/close store as directed; supervise loss prevention and operating initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, signing standards, markdowns and feature setups.
• Maintain excellent customer service and cashier operations and deter theft with visible management.
