Meijer is hiring at our Jerome, IL location to lead a team focused on delivering an exceptional shopping experience. You will guide daily operations, coach teammates, and ensure high standards in customer service, product freshness, and store presentation.

You will train and mentor staff, manage schedules, and support safety and compliance. The role centers on teamwork, accountability, and driving sales while upholding Meijer’s values and community focus.

Qualifications

• Passion for customer service with total engagement that conveys approachability to customers and fellow team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage peers to provide the best possible shopping experience including an exceptional checkout experience.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach other team members to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Assist training new team members and cross-training high potential talent to boost productivity.
• Collaborate with leadership on department scheduling to improve customer service, sales, and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness through rotation and dating policies and maintain safety standards.
• Lead team in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product displays as applicable.
• Contribute to a diverse, inclusive Meijer culture and participate in safe operations.
• Operate a register and handle cash when needed.
