Job summary

New Charter is seeking an Infrastructure Specialist to deploy, manage, and automate critical network, cloud, and server infrastructure for SMB clients. The role focuses on Meraki, Azure, and automation while serving as a technical escalation point and ensuring high reliability.

The position supports clients in the Charlotte area with remote work options and occasional on-site travel. Strong troubleshooting, automation, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with small/mid-sized business services.
• 5+ years of networking experience including Meraki support.
• 3+ years supporting Azure environments.
• 3+ years’ experience in automation with Python and PowerShell.
• Experience handling alerts for Network, Server, and Azure.
• Able to deploy Meraki networks from hardware receipt to testing.
• Knowledge of OSI model for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Experience with Meraki Cloud Firewalls, VPNs, and SD-WAN.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment and ongoing management of standardized management tools.
• Diagnose latency, packet loss, and connectivity issues via Meraki Dashboard.
• Automate remediation and runbooks using Python/PowerShell.
• Coordinate with carriers and network providers to resolve escalated tickets.
• Monitor and analyze Azure and network alerts to identify root causes.
• Support disaster recovery, security, and backup plans.
• Travel to client sites for on-site work and demonstrations.
• Develop documentation and runbooks for operational processes.
