Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). Field Interviewers conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults from a nationally representative sample, using a Westat-provided laptop.

Travel to the in-person training in January 2027 is mandatory, with possible local and long-distance travel during data collection. This is a part-time, year-round role with two data collection periods.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older (or an emancipated minor) with the ability to enter binding confidentiality agreements to protect project information.
• Be available to travel to and attend mandatory in-person training.
• Be available to complete additional mandatory web-based and virtual training activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults in households.
• Contact households in-person and/or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation, set appointments, and complete interviews.
• Transmit electronic data daily when work is performed and comply with data security requirements.
