Job description

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced MEP Superintendent to review, provide analysis, manage, and resolve field coordination issues with project team members and participants. Excellent communication skills are required to interact with staff at all levels in an ever‑changing environment. The role demands flexibility, inventiveness, dedication, efficiency, integrity, and confidentiality.

This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation is based on experience and location.

Responsibilities

• Provide coordination, planning, and supervision for MEP scopes of work.
• Develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.
• Plan and implement measures to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
• Review construction documents for completeness and constructability.
• Review and understand contract documents.
• Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies.
• Participate in the development and management of project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead schedules.
• Develop a site logistics plan.
• Manage the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with project partner superintendents.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural, mechanical, and/or electrical engineering, or 10 years of trade experience.
• Minimum 8 years of construction experience with at least 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor.
• Ability to fulfill all responsibilities for multiple, complex data center projects.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Positive and professional attitude, strong customer‑service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Active listening skills and effective communication, including openness to diverse input and feedback.

Base pay is positioned within the range based on individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.

Level Details

MEP Superintendent I

• Minimum qualifications: 8 years of construction experience with 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor.
• Base pay range: $111,400 MIN – $167,100 MAX (higher by 5–12.5% for specified locations).

MEP Superintendent II

• Minimum qualifications: 10 years of construction experience with 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably with a mechanical or electrical contractor.
• Base pay range: $130,100 MIN – $195,200 MAX (higher by 5–12.5% for specified locations).
