MEP Site Manager: Industrial Projects Lead

Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking a Site Manager, MEP to support our Field Operations Team on field/project-based work. You will assist the MEP Project Manager with subcontractor management, scheduling, and estimating for self-performed MEP work.

The role requires extensive construction experience, leadership, and the ability to read drawings and manage safety and quality on site. Travel to projects across the United States is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum 15 years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
• Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong people management skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), tablets and smartphones.
• MS project and other scheduling software a plus.
• Must possess a strong work ethic and be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
• Must posses the ability to think for his/herself and be able to manage without direction having to be given.

Responsibilities

• Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project Manager.
• Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule.
• Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Schedule work, including subcontractors.
• Serve as on-site Safety Officer when one is not specifically assigned to the project.
• Establish and maintain high safety and quality standards on site.
