Job summary

Gray Construction is seeking a Site Manager, MEP to join our Field Operations Team. This field/project-based role leads coordination of MEP trades, reviews drawings, and supports project scheduling and procurement on diverse industrial projects.

You will assist in developing scopes, tracking progress, ensuring safety, and maintaining quality while traveling to project sites across the United States. A strong background in industrial construction and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school AND a minimum of ten (10) years of construction experience OR a minimum 15 years related construction experience with increasing responsibility in lieu of a degree.
• Experience within the light/heavy industrial sector highly desired.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
• Strong people management skills.
• Must possess basic computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
• MS project and other scheduling software a plus.
• Must possess a strong work ethic and be an energetic, self-motivated individual who enjoys a team environment, as well as a passion for collaboration and professional development.
• Must posses the ability to think for his/herself and be able to manage without direction having to be given.

Responsibilities

• Assist MEP Project Manager in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Assist in developing scopes of work for review and approval of MEP Project Manager.
• Assist in the development of MEP project schedule within the entire construction schedule. Prepare estimates in areas of MEP self-performed work, and assist in complete project estimate.
• Individual poses the ability to assist in coordination/management of all trades throughout build process.
• Assist in selection of qualified bidders and negotiate final prices.
• Assist in the preparation of various reports, i.e. cost to complete, monthly billings and status reports.
• Review all drawings, i.e. P&IDs, Mechanical, Electrical, Shop, Architectural, Structural, etc. when they are issued to the field and coordinate and maintain a current set at all times.
• Assist in pricing work, draft changes and change orders to be reviewed by MEP Project Manager.
• Assist in ensuring customer satisfaction with the project.
• Coordinate and manage on-site construction activities from pre-start-up to completion.
• Schedule work, including subcontractors.
• Assist in the productivity and quantity tracking of the subcontractors installed work.
