Job summary

Group PMX in New York City is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes for high-end retail and commercial projects. This onsite role is based Uptown Manhattan and requires delivering systems safely, on schedule, and within budget.

You will coordinate design consultants, subcontractors, and field teams, manage drawings and RFIs, and support procurement and turnover documentation across multiple sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of experience managing MEP scopes in retail or commercial construction.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety systems.
  • Experience with retail rollouts, tenant fit‑outs, or multi‑site programs preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee MEP scopes from preconstruction through closeout for retail buildouts, renovations, and rollouts
  • Coordinate MEP design consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams across multiple locations
  • Review and manage MEP drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Ensure compliance with local and state codes, utility regulations, and client standards
  • Manage MEP schedules and sequencing to support fast‑track retail construction timelines
  • Track budgets, cost reports, change orders, and forecasts related to MEP work
  • Conduct virtual coordination meetings and periodic site visits as needed
  • Support procurement of long‑lead MEP materials and equipment
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation
  • Partner with project managers, superintendents, and clients to resolve MEP issues quickly
  • Support closeout activities including as‑builts, O&M manuals, and warranties

Job Summary:

The MEP Project Manager is responsible for managing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes for an affluent NYC client. This role works 5 days a week onsite, Uptown Manhattan ensuring MEP systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable codes, brand standards, and project requirements.
