WorkHub Enterprise in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced MEP Project Engineer to lead coordination and management of MEP systems on diverse projects. The role emphasizes BIM coordination, site oversight, and timely delivery while ensuring code compliance and safety.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines, with hands-on experience in Autodesk Revit MEP, ACC, BIM 360, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of MEP engineering or MEP construction experience on commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, institutional, or high-rise projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to review and coordinate contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate MEP engineering activities throughout all phases of construction projects.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
  • Collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, consultants, and building owners.
  • Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and closeout of MEP systems.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Identify and resolve design conflicts through BIM coordination and clash detection processes.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Support procurement activities, including equipment and material reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with NYC building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate project meetings and effectively communicate project status to stakeholders.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled MEP Project Engineer to join our growing team in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems design, coordination, and construction management. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can successfully manage multiple projects, collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders, and leverage Autodesk software to drive project success from planning through completion.The successful candidate will play a critical role in coordinating MEP systems, ensuring code compliance, maintaining project schedules, controlling costs, and delivering high-quality construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of MEP engineering or MEP construction experience on commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, institutional, or high-rise projects.
  • Strong knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to review and coordinate contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field operations.
  • Experience inAutodesk Software:Autodesk Revit MEP, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Autodesk BIM 360, Autodesk Navisworks, AutoCAD
Preferred experience includes:
  • BIM Coordination
  • Clash Detection
  • Model-Based Construction Workflows
  • Digital Project Delivery
Preferred Qualifications
  • PE License (Professional Engineer) preferred but not required.
  • Experience with New York City construction projects.
  • Knowledge of Local Law requirements and NYC Building Codes.
  • Experience working on large-scale commercial, multifamily, healthcare, or institutional projects.
  • BIM or Autodesk certifications are highly desirable.
