Job summary

PowerSecure, a Southern Company subsidiary, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the construction of large and multiple smaller projects, including mechanical or multi‑discipline work, within the established budget to ensure customer satisfaction and quality.

You will manage material and labor, train project supervisors and technicians, and coordinate safety, scheduling, and client communications across trades. Typical project values range from 100K to 5M.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 7+ years of managing government contracts.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.).
• OSHA 30 (training provided if needed).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
• Create and maintain a construction schedule assigning personnel to complete the project on schedule and within budget.
• Determine and advise on local laws concerning landfills, carting, codes and permitting.
• Ensure safety practices are followed and the work is performed safely and productively.
• Manage multiple energy efficiency projects concurrently.
• Prepare and deliver performance evaluations for project personnel; train/discipline as needed.
• Maintain communications with clients, executives, subcontractors, and engineers across trades.
• Manage subcontractors per contract requirements onsite.
• Maintain a clean and safe work site and proper waste disposal.
• Inspect sites before installation to plan equipment needs.
• Verify quality of work and customer satisfaction.
• Track materials used and remaining; maintain documentation.
• Coordinate project risk plans and QA requirements.
• Typical project value is 100K to 5M.
