Job summary

MBP (McDonough Bolyard Peck) is seeking an experienced engineer to manage mechanical and electrical acceptance testing and commissioning for a military construction program in eastern North Carolina.

You will lead design reviews, supervise TAB/DALT/NETA testing, and verify BMS installations, sequencing, and energy performance with federal standards. Strong PE credentials and 10 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (ABET-accredited) with PE license and 5 years' experience, or PE license with 10 years in mechanical engineering.
• 10 years' experience in design of commercial HVAC and electrical distribution systems, including controls sequences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee acceptance testing and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a federal construction program.
• Review designs for constructability and compliance with UFC/UFGS; verify TAB and DALT readiness.
• Witness tests (DALT, NETA, TAB, PVT) and verify system start‑up, operation, and energy performance.
• Coordinate test activities with contractors, vendors, FEAD, Public Works and design engineers.
• Validate Building Management System installation, operation, programming, and integration.
• Document deficiencies and communicate issues; provide technical guidance and issue resolution.
