Job summary

Ramos Consulting Services, Inc. (Ramos CS), now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, seeks an MEP Inspector to support LAWA's Capital Improvement Program in the Los Angeles area.

The role involves inspecting mechanical and plumbing work on airport projects, ensuring plans, specs, permits and codes are met. Responsibilities include daily inspections, documentation, and coordination with engineers, contractors, and third parties.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical inspection experience for building construction.
• Strong knowledge of CBC & CMC codes.
• Cal-OSHA 30-hour training within the last 4 years.
• Current ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector certification.
• Current ICC Commercial Plumbing Inspector certification.
• NFPA 70E training within the last 3 years.
• Ability to read, interpret, and review blueprints, shop drawings, submittals, RFIs and change orders.
• Experience inspecting mechanical systems in large-scale commercial, industrial or public buildings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect a wide range of airport improvements and utilities projects to ensure conformance to plans, specs, permits and contracts.
• Conduct daily inspections of mechanical and plumbing systems across building and terminal construction projects.
• Prepare comprehensive daily inspection reports documenting the who/what/when/where/how of activities.
• Verify contractor compliance with local and national mechanical and plumbing codes and LAWA standards.
• Track time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities; assist in validating progress payments.
• Support inspections and testing activities with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies.
