Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an Entry-level to early-career MEP Estimator to prepare detailed estimates for Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology and LV systems in Philadelphia, PA. You will analyze design documents, perform take-offs, and coordinate with vendors and trade partners from concept through construction documents.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of estimating experience, with strong communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field and minimum of 3 years of related Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and LV system estimating experience.
• Knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and Low Voltage systems.
• Ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule to formulate cost analyses.
• Ability to collaborate with vendors, trade partners and project team members.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills to deliver presentations with confidence.
• Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office; able to adopt quickly to new technology.
• Supervisory experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Communicate mechanical and electrical estimate and scopes of work to Turner staff, architects, engineers, and owners.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies for Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Electrical, Technology, and LV systems.
• Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope.
• Develop relationships with local vendors to solicit current pricing of materials and equipment.
• Develop bidders list with trade partners to build qualified bidders for projects.
• Perform constructability analysis and communicate issues to project team.
• Coordinate equipment pricing with SourceBlue for system estimates.
• Prepare and assemble estimates and proposals for different contract types.
• Participate in estimate reviews with Design team and client.
