Job summary

DPR Construction is seeking an experienced MEP Estimator to prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems on moderately complex projects. You will coordinate with design and preconstruction teams, assess constructability, evaluate design options, and support the overall cost strategy to improve estimating practices.

You will own MEP scopes, review drawings and addenda, and engage with trade partners to obtain and clarify bids.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in MEP estimating, design-build coordination, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Owns MEP scopes and prepares detailed takeoffs and estimates across project phases.
• Reviews drawings and specs to identify scope and conflicts; documents assumptions and risks.
• Performs cost and value analyses to support design decisions.
• Engages with trade partners to obtain and clarify MEP bids.
• Contributes to constructability and value engineering reviews.
• Helps develop cost databases and estimating tools; guides junior staff.
• Works with scheduling, operations, and design teams to align MEP pricing with budgets.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, construction management, or a related field
