Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CM/Engineering or related field; experience considered.
• Experience estimating MEP scopes for commercial/industrial projects.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and technical docs.
• Knowledge of MEP systems, methods, and subcontractor scopes.
• Experience with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Evaluate subcontractor proposals for scope gaps and pricing.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Excel and estimating/takeoff software.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced env.

Responsibilities

• Review MEP/FP drawings, specs, bid documents, and addenda to determine scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed estimates for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, controls, and related building systems.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Solicit pricing from qualified MEP subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Review and level subcontractor proposals to confirm scope coverage, exclusions, and pricing.
• Develop and maintain MEP bid tabs and scope comparisons.
• Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams to incorporate MEP pricing into overall project estimates.
• Participate in subcontractor interviews, scope reviews, and pre-award meetings.
• Assist with estimating project changes and MEP change-order pricing as needed.
• Maintain current subcontractor and vendor relationships and expand the MEP bidding network.
