Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an entry-level MEP Engineer to support project teams on construction sites. You will report to a project manager or superintendent and help manage all aspects of projects, from coordinating with owners, architects, and subs to tracking costs and schedules.

Basic qualifications include a BS in an engineering discipline and proficiency with reading specs, drawings, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or construction management.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and basic business principles to monitor expenses.
• Proficiency in MS Office including Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand technical specs, blueprints, and drawings.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Managing estimating and bidding processes and tracking costs to manage budget.
• Resolving and clarifying design issues.
• Identifying and resolving field issues and change orders.
• Writing contracts and purchase orders documenting work, costs, schedules, and specs.
• Participating in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensuring work complies with quality standards and contract specs.
• Tracking project phase completion against milestones.
• Providing field support to superintendents to ensure contract compliance and safety.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, submittals, and change orders.
