Job summary

The Whiting‑Turner Contracting Company is seeking entry‑level engineers to assist with construction project management. Reporting to the project manager or superintendent, you will coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to support project success.

You will help manage estimates, bids, schedules, and field issues, while ensuring quality and contractual compliance. Training will be provided to develop safety, drawing interpretation, and construction process knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Engineering Technology or Construction Management, Construction Technology.
• Knowledge of engineering principles.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Experience reading and understanding technical specifications, blueprints, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating work with project owner representatives, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Managing estimating and bidding processes and tracking costs to manage the project budget.
• Resolving and clarifying design issues.
• Identifying and resolving field issues and change orders.
• Writing contracts and purchase orders documenting work, costs, schedules and specs.
• Participating in meetings to coordinate work and manage labor concerns.
• Ensuring work complies with quality standards and contract specifications.
• Implementing project schedules for all tasks and milestones.
• Documenting the technical, financial, and personnel aspects of each project.
• Reviewing project drawings, submittals, and change orders.
• Reviewing each trade’s progress relative to project phases.
• Providing field support to ensure contract compliance and site maintenance.
