Job summary

Actalent in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking an MEP Coordinator to oversee the coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems on commercial construction projects. This contract-to-hire role works closely with project teams and trade partners to deliver well-coordinated, code-compliant systems and to support commissioning.

The position offers a path into a BIM/VDC leadership track within the project teams, with onsite work and a pay range of $36.06–$40.87 per hour,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• At least 3 years coordinating MEP and Fire Protection on commercial projects.
• Proficiency in Revit for MEP coordination and model review.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation.
• Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Experience leading coordination meetings and resolving issues with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate MEP and Fire Protection systems across the project lifecycle.
• Lead coordination meetings with project teams and trade partners.
• Ensure systems are coordinated, code-compliant, and ready for commissioning.
• Support BIM/VDC initiatives and growth within the department.
