Job summary

Legacy Professional Services in the United States seeks an MEP Engineer (Connectivity) to coordinate, install, test, and turnover structured cabling, fiber optic, and low-voltage systems on hyperscale data center projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Three+ years supporting connectivity, low‑voltage, telecom, network infrastructure in commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, and related pathways.
• Experience coordinating connectivity with MEP and other disciplines.
• Familiarity with TIA/EIA, BICSI, and cabling installation requirements.
• Experience with fiber testing, copper certification, OTDR, or validation activities.
• Ability to read MEP/connectivity drawings, specs, diagrams, and docs.
• Understanding of construction sequencing, field installation, testing, turnover.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction CM software (Procore, Autodesk Cloud, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, MS Project).

Responsibilities

• Support installation, integration, and deployment of connectivity systems for hyperscale data centers.
• Coordinate connectivity scopes with mechanical, electrical, controls, and other MEP systems.
• Review drawings, diagrams, specs, submittals, and docs to identify installation requirements and conflicts.
• Coordinate pathways, cable trays, sleeves, penetrations, equipment spaces, grounding, and power interfaces.
• Coordinate telecom rooms, network spaces, racks, cabinets, fiber infrastructure, and related equipment.
• Coordinate rack-and-stack and white space deployment as required.
• Verify installations meet project specs, standards, and owner requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, MEP trades, design teams, and leadership to resolve field issues.
• Document fiber testing, copper certification, OTDR, and validation activities.
• Support inspections, testing, system readiness, and client acceptance.
• Track materials, deliveries, progress, documentation, deficiencies, turnover.
• Assist short-term planning to align connectivity with MEP construction and turnover milestones.
• Maintain as-built drawings, test reports, logs, and turnover packages using Procore/AC-C BIM 360/Bluebeam.
• Support final inspections and phased turnover activities.
